It is appreciated that members get frustrated when it would appear that nothing is happening. However, I would ask that some trust is given to those that are putting themselves in the position of being elected by the membership to represent you in challenging times.
It is not always in the best of interests of negotiations to reveal some of the detail of the information too early as it can seriously compromise progress.
It is still early days for this website and there, have, it is agreed been some technical difficulties.
I can assure all members on the important issues - it is the Committee's aim to reach the best position possible via negotiation - members views feed into this - via contact with their reps etc which in some cases is still by phone/email and snail mail contact.
The UNISON Committee do not agree anything that will effect your Terms and Conditions without proper consultation. This website has been developed and is developing to improve this process.
If any member out there seeks to become more actively involved in representing staff interests there is an event on 6 and 7 June in London which is aimed at stewards and interested parties.
I believe all members have had the email from me.. Space is limited - but help from members in putting themselves forward to raise the voice and profile of UNISON in the workplace will be invaluable.
